The first step in preparing a garden bed is to find a suitable frame. It can be anything from landscape timber, railroad ties or two to ten concrete blocks. Also materials that are durable and strong enough to hold the soil can be used. The frame that we make should be hard enough to hold the soil and it is also important to protect the sides from collapsing. The bottom should be always open to make sure that we provide a good drainage.
It’s good to keep the width of the bed within two arm lengths so that it would be easy to reach any part of the garden without climbing over the bed.
The next important thing lies in choosing the soil and it’s always best to choose a soil that would ideally suit the plant you grow.
A drip hose can make your garden bed maintenance free and efficient. But still you can use a sprinkler or hand water the bed.
Using plastic mulch may help you to keep the weeds out and would make your bed maintenance free.
You can create your own style of garden beds depending on your desire.

Bricks always give a pleasant look in your outdoor areas. Bricks are generally used as walkways, drive ways, or simple landscaping. Keeping them clean and in good shape is one thing – but keeping those brick areas free of weeds is another all together.
Weeds will erase the good look in brick areas in less that couple of days. They may have cracks which will allow the weeds to survive. If your brick work is tightly put together as it should be, the cracks are much too small for you to pull out root structures once they’ve gotten a hold. There are several things that you can do to keep your brick area weed free.
The first thing is to scrape the area clean of all vegetation before you place the bricks down. Mark the areas you would like them to be and clear everything that is growing underneath them.
Make a dirt area to put your bricks. Treat the area with a weed killer, which may lesser the chances of weed growing later on.
Next, you need to lay down a layer of plastic between the ground and your bricks. Pack this tightly as possible. You want to have the plastic down as close to the ground and into the dirt as possible, so that there is no room for air or moisture to get to the dirt underneath the plastic. Try using old tent pegs, or something else to keep the plastic as flat as possible.
If you have a brick area that constantly has weeds, there are still some things that you can do about it. First and foremost, you are going to need a good weed killer. The reason that many weed killers don’t work on bricks is that they don’t kill the roots and the weed continues to grow. Therefore, you should be purchasing a weed killer that will work on the roots and that will kill the weeds completely. Also, you should be sure that you are treating the areas as often as is recommended to prevent re-growth.The best way to keep your brick area clean is to have constant care and attention

Gardening can be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable pastimes. Whether you have done it by your own hand or by hired professional to create your garden. The following information should provide some useful gardening tips.

•	Place walkways or steeping stones in the garden for easy access and to keep your shoes clean and dry. Cover the soil with a board to kneel while planting. This is to avoid walking on wet clay soil. The footprints compress the soil particles tightly and squeezing out vital oxygen. It’s better to build a hedge, if the path is three feet or more wide.

•	Spade compost into lightly moist soil before planting a new garden. Remove weed over the area as you go. Remove its root to prevent the weed from growing back. Just trimming and cutting will give only temporary result. Then break up the soil into small pieces.

•	For deep rooted plants like roses need double dig garden to make high performance garden.

•	Some places can be highlighted by making a rockery. It’s for the plants which require less water. Cactus is excellent choice for rock garden.

•	Grasses like Blue Grass, Fescue, and Rye should be mowed as high as possible. The best is around 2 to 3 inches and no higher. If it’s taller than that, the grass can flop over and if it’s too short, then the grass is more susceptible to weeds

•	Plant tress at the corner of the garden to avoid too much sunlight. This will keep plants away from direct sunlight.
